Richard Obedian MD took over Island Spine and Sports in Hicksville, New York as the director in 2003. Since then, the small office has undergone huge changes in personnel. The office has also received a much needed facelift and an updated website. It would be putting it lightly to say that Richard Obedian MD shook things up when he became the director. He was so focused on the kind of practice he wanted it to be that all the changes came quite organically.
The first thing Richard Obedian MD decided to do was hire an office manager. The office did not have one specifically and he knew that in order for it to run like a well-oiled machine, he needed a smart, aggressive, and efficient manager. Richard Obedian MD began his search amongst his network and found the perfect fit for the office. Once the new office manager was hired, there was another wave of changes. Some other staff were let go for various reasons, new staff were brought on, and a lot of time was focused on training, procedures, and the culture of the office. The office manager serves as Richard Obedian MD’s right hand in all manners pertaining to the office, staff, advertising, insurance, and much more.
Richard Obedian MD was then able to place his energy into the actual office space. It needed a fresh coat of paint, some new furniture, and a few other important accents. New computers and flat screen television monitors were installed, giving everything a more modern feel. Everyone in the office cleaned up their own space so everything looked neat, clean, and professional. Richard Obedian MD knew that these physical changes were important but the real success would come from the place being run more efficiently. As everyone settled into their new space and roles, Richard Obedian MD quickly saw the benefits he knew would come from those changes.
